  TGS Imaging
"By deploying a Linux cluster, we knew we would be able to achieve exceptional compute power, but we needed a high performance storage system to maximize its capabilities. Finding a cluster computing and storage solution that worked together is absolutely critical to our business, we do not want to spend the extra time and money to integrate solutions in-house. We want something that works out-of-the-box. We are extremely pleased with the order of magnitude performance gains achieved from Panasas and Verari Systems. With other products, we were forced to make trade-offs, but with the Panasas and Verari Systems’ solution, we were able to get everything we needed and more, plus the service and support we receive from both Panasas and Verari Systems are exceptional. We certainly see their technology and support services as a key asset to our organization."

Tony Katz, IT Manager at TGS Imaging

  Geotrace Technologies Incorporated
"The Linux clusters, as supplied by Verari Systems, have proved to be the most efficient and cost effective solution for our computing needs."

Peter Wakeling, Vice President for Reservoir Seismic, Geotrace Technologies Incorporated

CGGVeritas
"Veritas has the latest Verari Systems high density Linux clusters in Houston, Singapore, Calgary and London data processing centers. These are some of the most powerful computer systems in the industry today and supplement the supercomputers, Unix clusters, and servers used by Veritas. Verari Systems Linux based clusters provide the very best in price performance and density and are ideal for the compute-intensive challenges presented by complex seismic imaging solutions. Current applications are benefiting from the development of even higher fidelity pre-stack time and depth imaging algorithms, thus continuing to raise the quality of this technology to a new industry standard."

Michael Nathan Manager, System Support & Operations CGGVeritas

"The geophysical industry is founded on technology, and the pace which technological improvements are introduced drives industry growth. Veritas is a company that aggressively pursues innovation and new technologies through ongoing research and development efforts. We operate (or manage, etc) significant deployments of Verari Systems’ compute clusters in our data processing centers worldwide. The Verari Systems’ cluster technology combined with the new VS7000i storage systems allow us to service our clients by providing higher fidelity imaging solutions with a turnaround time that was unachievable before."

Peter Harris, Manager of Advanced Hardware and Software Systems for CGGVeritas

Scripps Research Institute
"We have been running a wide variety of servers and clusters purchased from Verari Systems for over a year ranging from small 1U servers to large RAID data servers and 96 processor clusters. During this time we have experienced almost no hardware related issues whatsoever. We have found their knowledge of hardware with respect to Linux to be good and have regularly found them to be able to specify high performance systems that are reliable. We have no hesitation in recommending Verari Systems to any prospective purchaser."

Scripps Research Institute

 Mars Space Flight Facility
"Processing and calibrating the raw data gathered by TES and THEMIS, our instruments onboard the spacecraft orbiting Mars, is a time-consuming procedure. Our BladeRack cluster has greatly accelerated this process. We use a wide variety of custom processing techniques and each technique is used in differing variations to draw specific conclusions about the data gathered from these instruments. It is this constant state of refinement that is helping to generate information with increased accuracy and verify scientific analysis. When a new data processing technique is discovered, it has to be tested on thousands of large-scale images, which is a very compute intensive process. Our BladeRack cluster has allowed us to cut these data intensive processing times from days to hours. Jobs that used to take over a month to process are now completed in less than a week. It was also necessary to find a solution that would provide the most processing power without taking up valuable space, which is why the density of the BladeRack was a perfect fit."

Chris Kurtz, System Administrator, Mars Space Flight Facility

 Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company
"When we first started using the clusters we linked the code against MPICH and LAM (opensource MPI implementations). The code would mysteriously crash at random times when running with MPICH and would not even run using LAM. We contacted the maintainers of both libraries for assistance and neither was able to offer much in the way of help. We then turned to Verari Systems. They helped port MPI/Pro so our code would run reliably. This modification took the Verari Systems’ engineers about a day. Using MPI/Pro we can now schedule very long runs on the clusters without fear of a crash and losing the results. In addition, we found that MPI/Pro is about 30% faster in terms of wall clock time per processor than MPICH for our code."

Jeff Layton, Ph.D., Senior Engineer, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company

 Mississippi State University
"The computational time differed between the two cases, probably because of the use of heterogeneous machines. The computational work and the message passing were identical for MPICH and MPI/Pro, except that there were a larger number of iterations available for the MPI/Pro runs than for the MPICH because they took less time."

Clarence O. E. Burg, Ph.D., Assistant Research Professor, Computational Simulation and Design Center, Mississippi State University

 Cornell Theory Center
"We use MPI/Pro message passing middleware with commercial applications and fracture mechanics codes that run in parallel on 256-processor Windows high performance computing clusters. MPI/Pro is a highly reliable, commercially supported product that provides our programmers with a fully compliant implementation of the MPI standard in all areas, including error handling. The engineers at Verari Systems continually update their products to use the latest Microsoft technologies such as .NET. We also use ClusterCoNTroller, the only job scheduling software written around the Windows operating system, which leverages Windows security features. It enables us to increase our productivity and reduce systems administration costs. Based on our interaction with the developers at Verari Systems, we have the highest confidence in the quality of their products and look forward to future technology innovations."

Gerd Heber, Ph.D., Research Associate, Cornell Theory Center

 Harris Corporation
"I was able to compile and load an FFT test routine onto another vendor's board and run benchmark tests. The function call changes were seamless between the competing VSIPL version and VSI/Pro, with the exception of the vsip_init and vsip_finalize changes. That's very good to see."

Pamela Patton, Harris Corporation

 DSPCon, Inc.
"VSI/Pro from Verari Systems Software is easily the most flexible and robust high performance math library on the market. VSI/Pro provided me with the solution I needed where other products had failed. The product is so easy to install and use. In addition, the support that we have received from Verari has been very prompt and effective. I would recommend buying VSI/Pro over other competing math libraries for its professional support, portability, and performance."

Lester K. Perlak, DSPCon, Inc.
