Technician II

Verari Systems, Inc. is the premier developer of powerful, flexible, and scalable platform-independent blade computing systems that are defining a new era in high performance utility computing for the enterprise data center is seeking a full time Technician II.


Position Purpose

Under limited supervision performs various electronic assembly operations on components or subassemblies. Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making. Assignments are moderately complex.

 

Scope and Responsibilities

• Skilled assembly work to integrate components with assemblies and sub-assemblies
• Detailed oriented; has a good knowledge of tools and techniques relating to the assembly of computer    systems and rack equipment
• Work from detailed work instructions, assembly drawings and specifications
• Work under supervision; guidance and instruction provided on all work or variations on the product line
• Use hand and bench power tools, jigs and assembly fixtures
• Perform machine packing, crating and shipping
• Able to work closely in a collaborative role with other team members
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our quality system
• Ability to route cable harnesses according to work instructions and drawings.
• Assist with computer imaging/firmware updating process
• Assist with monitoring UUT (units under test)
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

 

Experience and Requirements

Technicians are in continuous communication with the Assembly Lead and/or Production Supervisor. The have a good knowledge in computer components and contain the ability to utilize a computer. They spend much time on the production line and may be required to wear protective clothing and glasses in some areas. Technicians must be able to expedite the Lead/Manager’s commands in a timely manner with an absolute degree of accuracy.

The regular workweek is 40 hours, but Assemblers must be prepared to work irregular hours when emergency production problems arise. Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing is preferred.

 

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, sitting, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms.
• Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
• Frequently involves wet or humid conditions, working near moving or mechanical parts.
• Occasional risk of electrical shock.
• Vision requirements include: close, distant, color perception, peripheral, depth and ability to focus.
• Noise conditions are moderate.
