Senior Mechanical/Thermal Engineer, CFD and Structural Analyst

Verari Technologies, Inc. is the premier developer of powerful, flexible, and scalable platform-independent blade computing systems that are defining a new era in high performance utility computing for the enterprise data center is seeking a full time Senior Mechanical/Thermal Engineer, CFD and Structural Analyst.

 

Position Purpose

The position will conduct structural and CFD analysis of blades, racks, containers, and data centers. The position will also provide expert guidance to the sales, marketing, and engineering teams and serve as a mentor to less senior engineers.

 

Experience & Requirements

Minimum 7 years experience of industry or relevant post academic research experience. Employee must work safely at all times, and maintain confidentiality of all company and customer information.

 

Education

Engineering Degree in Mechanical or related field or similar discipline is minimum requirement. Higher Degree (PhD or MS) in a relevant subject would be considered an advantage.

 

Specific Experience


Required

• A solid background in the fundamentals of fluid mechanics & heat transfer is critical, along with strong    analytical skills and good general problem solving skills.
• Strong background in structural/finite element analysis.
• Able to communicate clearly and work well with all levels of personnel including production personnel, test    technicians, fellow engineers and all levels of management.
• Proficient with 3-D modeling and analysis tools such as SolidWorks, Simulation, and FloTHERM, PRO/E,    FloWorks, and others.
• Knowledgeable in system and subsystem optimization and Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Six Sigma certification and Lean Design knowledge are preferred.
• Ethical, trustworthy and result driven. Able to handle multiple projects at a time.

Scope and Responsibilities

• Conduct structural and CFD analysis of blades, racks, containers, and data centers.
• Conduct tests and experiments to characterize thermal properties and behavior of systems and sub-systems.
• Provide expert advice, training and guidance to the engineering team on the structural and thermal behavior    of the design of products.
• Provide consultation on projects where you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for complex    analysis to meet the demanding requirements of our customers.
• Provide technical assistance to our sales and marketing team.
• Plan, develop and complete engineering projects involving thermal and cooling, with heavy emphasis on    analysis and detailed documentation in technical reports.
• Prepare and present written reports, status reports, presentations, and animations of results and findings.
• Troubleshoot system and sub-system issues related to thermal, structural, and power efficiency.
• Organize, develop, lead, and participate in studies and analysis in support of various engineering efforts.
• Additional duties as assigned.
