Senior Document Control Specialist

Verari Technologies, the premier developer of energy efficient data center and desktop consolidation platforms utilizing independent blade-based compute and storage solutions that are defining a new era in the green data center, is seeking a full time Senior Document Control Specialist.


Scope and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assume a primary lead role in the Engineering Document Control system.
• Participate in the successful development, implementation, and management of the Engineering Document
  Control system.
• Demonstrate and communicate sound configuration management principles.
• Establish and improve processes within document control and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
• Process Part Number Requests (PNR’s), Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s), and Engineering Change
  Orders (ECO’s).
• Ensure documents conform to established documentation procedures.
• Compile and maintain control records such as drawings, procedures, project documents, quality system
  documents, ISO documents, and manufacturing documents.
• Review engineering change orders for completeness and accuracy. Process and distribute ECR and ECO
  packages for approval. Implement ECO’s once approved.
• Ensure data accuracy between Product Life Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
• Perform database searches, data analysis, and prepare reports on issues related to the Engineering
  Document Control process.
• Distribute and retrieve new, revised, and obsolete documents.
• Write Deviation extensions if needed when deviations expire.
• Provide support for proposals, quotations, budgets, cost reviews, and analysis.
• Generate and deliver customer presentations.
• Facilitate and lead cross-functional review meetings attended by decision making representatives from within
  the entire organization.
• Train engineering staff and other departments on document control processes and procedures such as
  ECOs, ECRs, and PNRs.


Experience and Requirements

• 5+ years direct Document Control work experience in the computer or electronics industry.
• Knowledge of document control procedures including database storage, maintenance, revision control, and archival background.
• Excellent knowledge of ECO processes, BOM structures, PLM, and ERP, and packages such as Arena and Everest.
• Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule format.
• Ability to read and interpret Electrical and Mechanical CAD drawings.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks and PDMWorks is a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of the required documentation for PCBs and PCAs.
• Possess a thorough knowledge of the process controls required for engineering design documentation, from initial release, through revision change activities, to obsolescence.
• Excellent ability to assess the impact of proposed changes to product documentation and processes.
• Excellent ability to ensure that processed documents are complete, concise, accurate, and conform to established formats.
• Ability to judge the quality of engineering documents.
• Working experience with various computer applications programs including, but not limited to, MS Word, Access, and Excel.
• Excellent ability to organize and plan tasks for self and others and then communicate those tasks effectively.
• Excellent ability to successfully reconcile competing priorities.
• Excellent ability to communicate a justifiable sense of product ownership and process urgency.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to work with others in a positive and collaborative manner.
• Ability to speak effectively and communicate directly with all levels of personnel.
• Genuine willingness to establish and maintain the professional relationships required to facilitate the Engineering change control process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must be able to work well with all departments, and create appropriate pathways for the adoption of change, by reconciling and resolving conflict between and among disparate points of view.
• Ability to provide robust support on-demand.
